Where Toys Become Real Again...
The Bunny Bin is a sustainable toy company building toward a future where reuse is the standard, not a compromise. Our mission is three-fold:
Toys are among the most plastic-intensive products on the market. Roughly 90% of toys are made from plastic, and an estimated 80% end up in landfills, incinerators, or the ocean. The Bunny Bin focuses on rescuing well-made plush toys that can be cleaned, restored, and used again, thereby reducing waste and extending the life of things that were never meant to be disposable.
Keep toys in circulation and out of landfills.
Reuse doesn’t need to feel like a compromise or a niche choice. By sharing clear information, real examples, and well-cared-for toys, The Bunny Bin helps make secondhand feel both practical and accessible. Sometimes it just takes seeing it done well to change how we think about it.
Raise awareness around sustainability and reduce the stigma around second-hand.
We keep buying new, assuming that’s the only way to give children joy. The Bunny Bin challenges that. We lean into what children instinctively know: that being loved doesn't diminish something's worth. And through our efforts to reduce waste, we can give our children something truly priceless. A healthier and safer future.
Bring children joy.

From Intake to Adoption...
Rescue.
Every toy begins as a donation. We accept well-made plush toys that have been gently used and can be safely restored. Items are evaluated for overall condition, cleanliness, and durability before entering circulation. Our goal at this stage is simple: keep toys that are still usable out of landfills.
Not every toy is a fit, but not because we don't try. Just as fast fashion favors the fleeting, some toys on the market just aren’t built to last, and each rescue takes time and resources to clean, repair, and prepare for rehoming. Rescue is selective by design, so that every toy we pass along is one we can stand behind.
Repair.
Rescued toys go through a thorough cleaning and inspection process using child-safe methods. Each toy is frozen for 72 hours to rid of any pests, then washed with hypoallergenic detergent, checked for wear or damage, and repaired as needed to ensure it’s ready for everyday use again.
This work is intentionally minimal and low-waste. We don’t remake toys or hide their age. Small signs of wear are part of what makes a toy real. Repairs are made only where they extend usability, safety, and longevity.
Re-home.
Once a toy is restored, it’s prepared for adoption. Each one comes with a short written story and an official rescue certificate, acknowledging where it’s been and marking its transition to a new home.
Adoption isn’t about starting over. It’s part of the journey. These toys aren’t new, and they aren’t meant to be. They’re clean, safe, and ready to be made real again through the imaginations of those who love them.
